IR Iran Historic Promotion to World Group II

Iran Davis Cup team recorded an admirable performance against  opponents in Sri Lanka.

Iran Davis Cup team is promoted to World Group II after nearly half a century.

We are witnessing a historic tennis event in Iran.

According to the public relations report of the Tennis Federation, Iran Davis Cup  team defeated Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka in conditions that many tennis fans were worrying about staying in group 3 or even relegation to group 4.

We have had the experience of being in Asia/Oceania  Group II several times before, but being in World Group II has happened after nearly half a century.

Hamidreza Nadaf, Sina Moghimi, Amirhossein Badi, Ali Yazdani and Samyar Eliasi are members of Iran Davis Cup team. Mohammad Reza Tavakoli, the Head Coach and Farshad Sefati, the Team Manager, Moharram Khodaei, Omid Soori and Mehdi Behzadpour , the coaches, Dr. Tavakoli, the team’s Physiotherapist and Farid Yazdan Yar the trainer, have accompanied IR Iran Davis Cup team.

Davood Azizi, IR Iran President of the Tennis Federation, also attended the Davis Cup ties in Sri Lanka to follow the progress of Iran Davis Cup team.
